In conjunction with the Marion County Veterans Services Office, TOPVETS held a Vietnam Veterans Recognition Ceremony one March, 11, 2021. Vietnam Veterans Day was officially established as a national observance in 2017, but its roots go back to earlier efforts to recognize veterans who often returned to a hostile reception. The date, March 29, was chosen because it marks the anniversary of the departure of the last American troops from Vietnam in 1973
