Birthday cakes for Veterans
TOPVETS delivered a second batch of Birthday Cake Kits to the Food Pantry at Veteran’s Helping Veterans today!
Vicki Welsh, with the assistance of Cheryl Boyd and Lisa Bradley we shopped for, and assembled, 24 birthday cake kits.
Sharon Walker at the Food Pantry said the kits were well received and had this to say: “We get ‘old’ cake donations from Publix, but we didn’t have any and one veteran commented that he would have liked a cake for his upcoming birthday. I said ‘I have something better.’ “ Sharon showed him the cake kit and he was thrilled to have one.
Thank you for supporting this “little something special” initiative for our veterans.

Several TOPVETS member visiting the National Part Deport classic car collection on February 23rd. Awesome and nostaglic experience.
Donation to Veterans Helping Veterans
During a visit to Veterans Helping Veterans, TOPVETS president Jeff Dean presented a $10,000.00 check to Veterans Helping Veterans (VHV) board president Jim Hilty -- VHV Executive Director Todd Belknap, on the right, and other board members were also present. These funds will be used to replenish the VHV food bank which serves over 350 Marion County veteran families each month. TOPVETS is able to do this because of the community support we receive in our various fund raising activities throughout the year. The generosity of the Ocala Preserve community is inspiring.
TOPVETS Giving Day
March 1, 2025 Members of the Ocala Preserve Veterans Club, also known as the TOPVETS, gathered for a breakfast meeting on March 1 to distribute donations totaling $30,000. The funds, raised in 2024 through the club’s annual Veterans Day Golf Tournament, silent auction and pancake breakfast, were donated to Marion County outreaches focused on helping veterans in need.
